Penthouse Apartment Design and Renovation
The owner of this penthouse apartment wanted the design and furnishings to reflect the elegance of the site as well as her lifestyle. We removed walls to allow light and air as well as people to flow freely throughout the spaces used for entertaining. The glass cocktail table and crystal chandelier both help to lighten the dark woods and keep the breezy mood of this space.
The study includes the refinishing of existing furniture. The wall unit was hand painted and decorated to reflect the Chinoiserie fabric of the chair. A closet was hollowed out and is now a home office desk area.
The kitchen was completely redesigned. Furniture finished molding, matching the kitchen cabinets and an airy toile de jouy fabric keep this space light and open.
Glazed walls and airy flowers reinforce the spaciousness of the master bedroom. This large room now provides much more than sleep-space. The master bath, finished to coordinate with the bedroom, provides elegant bathing in a limited area.
